Sweden’s Elvira Öberg storms to third biathlon season victory

Sweden’s Elvira Öberg used her superior skiing again on Wednesday to claim a third season victory in the biathlon World Cup. Öberg won a 7.5-kilometres sprint race in Ruhpolding, Germany, in 19 minutes 45.2 seconds. She beat Norwegian World Cup leader Marte Olsbu Röiseland by 21.6 seconds. Former World Cup champ Dorothea Wierer of Italy got her first season podium in third, another 8.1 seconds back.
