Suspected butyric acid was spilled at the pre-game fan party of German Cup finalists RB Leipzig in Berlin on Saturday. There were no injuries, a police spokeswoman said, and the background to the incident is unclear. According to Leipzig, around 3,000 supporters had celebrated at the fan festival before heading to Berlin’s Olympic Stadium. Several thousand rival Freiburg fans gathered for a fan march to the stadium.
