As one of the youngest elected officials in South Jersey, Beverly City Councilman Riccardo Dale says he knows a thing or two about hard work and beating the odds. He said he suffered abuse as a child and homelessness as a teen, but mentors guided him along the way, pushing him toward success. “My mentors made me want to be somebody who could be a leader for other kids,” said Dale, 25, who was elected to public office in 2020. “I wanted to be an example for them to see that life is more than your negative circumstances and getting stuck in your neighborhood.” Dale wanted to pay it forward.
