Lonzo and LaMelo were talented players coming out of high school. But to LaVar’s credit, he, in part, somehow convinced the Lakers to take Lonzo over Jayson Tatum with the No. 2 overall pick back in 2017. He then helped orchestrate LaMelo’s career overseas, which helped him become the third overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
