After losing Jacob deGrom for the year, they have now lost Max Scherzer for the year due to a strained teres major, per Jeff Passan. It’s a muscle that connects the scapula to the humerus in the body. Scherzer was acquired by the Rangers from the New York Mets before the trade deadline.
