But despite all of the chaos, she’s returned to normalcy and received a significant award for her efforts. On Tuesday, Griner was awarded a share of the WNBA Comeback Player of the Year by the Associated Press. Griner will serve as co-Comeback Player of the Year with Napheesa Collier. Griner averaged 17.5 points per game after her 2022 imprisonment in Russia cost her the entire season.
