By Matt Hladik The Houston Astros are officially going to be without star second baseman Jose Altuve for a while. Houston general manager Dana Brown confirmed Sunday afternoon that Altuve suffered a fractured right thumb during Venezuela’s 9-7 loss to the United States in the World Baseball Classic on Saturday. The injury, which occurred when Altuve was hit by a pitch delivered by USA reliever Daniel Bard, will require surgery to repair. There is no set timetable for Altuve’s return.
